The City Hall Farmers Market kicked back into gear last month featuring more than 35 vendors including farmers’ fresh produce, cheeses, breads, roasted coffees and a variety of prepared meals and food trucks. Wednesdays from 11am until 2pm. City Hall, 901 Bagby, around the Reflection Pool.

 

Sip, shop, stroll and sing along at the 2012 River Oaks Jazz and Wine Festival at the River Oaks Shopping Center on Thursday, October 25, 5:30-8:30pm. The annual festival will boast the best in shopping, live music by Bubba McNeely and Gary-Michael Dahl Band, wine tasting and an exotic car exhibit.

The Second Annual Skatestock…peace, love, and skateboards will be held Saturday, October 20, at the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark, noon-9pm. Skatestock is a one-of-a-kind, FREE grass-roots, all-day event connecting the dots between skateboarding, music, art and science. The event features the music of Something Fierce, Hell City Kings, Sanctus Bellum, Bald Eagle Burger, No Love Less, Pinky Lieder, DJ Brother Roo, Ceeplus Bad Knives and more. Surfing videos will be projected on the ceiling of the World’s Largest Cradle while skaters enjoy carving through it (evening hours). In addition, unique physics experiments will be conducted on the skaters’ velocity and weightlessness.

 

The 20th Annual TXU Energy Turkey Trot is November 22, with early registration ending November 16. Proceeds benefit Sheltering Arms Senior Services supporting more than 68,00 seniors and caregivers in the Greater Houston Area.
