Guests and potential new clients mingled with the creative minds responsible and learned more about the variety of design and printing services being offered. Partygoers strolled though the swanky new “it” place while sampling complimentary cocktails infused with TRU Organic vodka.

More than 200 of 002houston magazine’s loyal readers gathered at 18Hands Gallery in the Heights for our 4th Annual December 2010 Cover Contests. Guests had the unique opportunity to vote for their favorites. To our surprise, readers began voting the day prior, bringing the tally of votes to more than 300. Look at the cover – this was the winner! We were overwhelmed this year not only with the amount of submissions, but with the quality of the work. Guests mixed and mingled while sipping on some ice-cold Stella Artois beer, perfectly chilled wines and refreshing SmartWaters, munching on yummy Freebirds burritos, chips and salsa. Thanks to all that stopped by… you guys, rock!

Jobs are scarce nowadays, so 002houston and Aflac, a Fortune 500 company, joined forces to help our fellow Houstonians explore the possibilities of a career and hopefully achieve financial independence. Guests gathered at Silvestri’s latest project in conjunction with Sudhoff Properties, the old Nabisco Building downtown. The cozy and historical building provided attendees with a relaxed, yet professional networking ambience. Guests nibbled on some tasty treats from Blue Apron Catering, super healthy popsicles and fresh watermelon juice from The Fruit Palette and ice-cold Bud Light.

WHERE Afterparty at Sanctuary
WHEN October 11–14 , 2010 AND 002houston

Never have so many fashionistas from all walks of life taken over thw Wortham Theater Downtown as they did for this 4-evening fashion explosion. Houston Fashion Group pulled off the first ever Houston-based and created fashion week without a hitch. Granted there were glitches to be had, tweaks to be made, but all-in-all most were happy. From local stars like Cesar Galindo, Chloe Dao, Toni Whitaker, transplant David Peck with local Elaine Turner accessories, to visitors like Marc Bauer, Lela Rose, Christian Siriano, www.net-a-porter.com to so many more– fashion descended on the Space cCity like Neil Armstrong planted a flag in it! Congrats to all involved, and hears hoping that this isn’t a one-time affair. On October 13, the city’s best-dressed descended to Sanctuary on Washington after the shows, that’s if you got the invite! The lounge was bursting at the seams with people spilling out to the entry red carpet all night long. Cesar Galindo, Chloe Dao and Marc Bauer were among the designers spotted. Moet Chandon and Belvedere poured without end while local hipsters relished the excitement of fashion in town.

WHY To celebrate National Trails Day
WHERE Houston Arboretum & Nature Center
WHEN June 5

Dogs, their owners and nature-lovers braved the infamous Houston heat to commemorate National Trails Day with their precious pooches. Each owner got a water, doggie bag and treat before hitting the trails. Strolling the Arboretum for a few hours certainly worked up a sweat and put everyone in the mood for a delicious Freebirds burrito and some refreshing SmartWater – not to mention music and door prizes! WHY To usher in a new incarnation of an H-Town institution
WHERE 5115, inside Saks Fifth Avenue in the Galleria

A bevy of beautiful people showed up to celebrate the re-grand opening of 5115 inside of Saks. Dressed in their best, guests enjoyed drinks by Dripping Springs and delicious tastings of the updated menu. DJ Martin mixed his famous tunes which kept guests on their feet all night.
